Nanogate AG: Second place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award’s “Rising Stars” category

Saarbrücken, 26 October 2006. Nanogate AG (ISIN DE000A0JKHC9) came second in the “Rising Stars” category of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award. The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award is a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Germany.

Qualities praised were the fast and successful transformation of a key technology into products demanded by the market and the role of Nanogate as an enabler. Using established system solutions as a base, the Saarbrücken-based company Nanogate makes it possible for customers from various industries to make efficient use of nanotechnology.

Ralf Zastrau, CEO of Nanogate AG: “In the coming years speed of implementation in the international markets will be a decisive factor for the success of companies in the nanotechnology industry. The award therefore has a special significance for us. We see the prize as an incentive to continue the growth we have shown over the past few years. Our focus on innovations that enhance the market value of existing products is paying off.” Nanogate started as a pioneer in 1999 and is now a leading enabler of nanotechnology, concentrating on one of the most economically attractive segments as an interface between raw materials and industry. “In ten years every second product will feel the benefit of nanotechnology,” Zastrau continued. To provide the financial flexibility needed for further growth at home and internationally, the company has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 18 October 2006.

“With the Technology Fast 50 Award we want to distinguish companies and entrepreneurs who show initiative, are powerful innovators willing to take risks and at the same time are experts in their field”, explained Dieter Schlereth, managing partner for Technology, Media and Telecommunications at Deloitte. “One criteria for ranking this is the cumulative revenue growth rate of these fast-growing companies. In addition they must have had revenues of at least €50,000 in 2001 and have reached €1,000,000 by 2004.” The average cumulative growth rate of all this year’s Fast 50 companies is 3,269%. The Rising Stars ranking is for companies that have been in the market for at least three years and achieved minimum revenues of €30,000 in the first year.
