Nanogate AG one of the first companies in the industry with a certificated environmental management system

Combined quality and environmental management audit to ISO DIN 9001 and 14001 successfully completed

Saarbrücken/Düsseldorf, 6 February 2007. Saarbrücken-based Nanogate AG has since January 2007 fulfilled the strict requirements of ISO DIN 14001:2004. Stock market-listed Nanogate was one of the world’s first nanotechnology firms to undertake ISO DIN 9001 certification in quality management in 2000. The leading nanotechnology enabler has now provided documentary proof of responsible environmental management.

The DIN ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004 certificates, the internationally acknowledged documents certificating quality management systems and functioning corporate environmental protection, demonstrate that Nanogate has clear targets for corporate development and presents itself as a responsible technology company in the nanotechnology industry. The success of Nanogate’s quality management, which guarantees optimum alignment of corporate processes and ensures quality of customer-specific services, has thereby been objectively and independently confirmed. Nanogate also practises environmental responsibility in the development, manufacture and distribution of products.

The certification testifies to the fact that all products and services are developed and implemented on the basis of uniformly high quality and environmental production standards. Nanogate AG’s orientation is firmly embedded in an integrated corporate policy that is focused on specific targets in entrepreneurial activity. “Adopting the environmental management system ensures an intensive flow of information on all quality- and environment-relevant issues to both our employees and our customers. By gaining extended certification we have established an important precondition for ensuring this information flow,” said Nanogate COO Michael Jung.

On the basis of Nanogate’s environmental management system, for example, the raw materials used and their effect on the environment are tested. Products are tested throughout their entire life cycle (production, storage, processing, use and recycling) in order to recognise and eliminate possible hazards. Team-oriented project work in the context of the company’s optimised quality and environmental management system makes implementation of these ambitious corporate objectives possible. Nanogate’s position as one of the leading nanotechnology enterprises is thereby ensured and extended in combination with a continuous improvement and optimisation of existing business processes.
