Hydrophobic, but clean

The hydrophobic function that is frequently called the drip off effect has now become the most popular application of surface influencing. The function lets liquids just drip off a surface. E.g. water: droplets drip off the treated surface like balls of mercury. The same function is achieved with oily liquids is known as having an oleophobic effect.

The Nanogate-Technologie® makes hydrophobic functions available for many surfaces such as glass, metal, wood, plastic, mineral undercoats, textiles and leather. The water simply drips off glass facades, car windows or shower cabinets that are equipped with a wafer-thin, water-repelling coating. The surfaces maintain their shine and clean appearance longer and allow better visibility. The enhanced surfaces can be cleaned with little effort and less cleaning products.

It is also possible to provide wood or mineral undercoats with a long-lasting seal against water and oil. Facade paneling made of glass, metal or mineral undercoats such as natural stone materials, are sealed by means of an invisible, but very resistant enhancement against moisture or soiling.

A protection that textile materials could also make good use of. An impregnation of textiles and leather protects against soiling and lets moisture simply drip off. Plastic or lacquered surfaces have a visible protection and remain as new for longer.
